Percussion FAQ
Do I have to be proficient on all percussion instruments to participate at LSM?
No. Percussion is a unique area, in that it covers a vast range of instruments. Students arrive to LSM with a range of musical experiences: some have had experience with orchestral percussion instruments (timpani, cymbals, etc.), some are marimba players; others have experience in drumline, others have only played drum kits. Come with what you know – and expect to learn a lot more!
