Nina Laube

Nina Laube is making “her moments on the bassoon a mini-celebration,” according to the Colorado Gazette. Nina is currently a Fellow of the New World Symphony in Miami, Florida. Formerly, she was a Fellow of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago from 2023-24. She has performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, and Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2024, Nina joined the faculty of Lutheran Summer Music at Valparaiso University.

Nina studied with Judith LeClair at The Juilliard School, where she earned her master’s degree and she completed her bachelor’s degree at the Eastman School of Music under the instruction of George Sakakeeny. At Eastman, she was awarded a Performer’s Certificate recognizing the outstanding performance of select graduates. In 2019, Nina was a finalist in the Meg Quigley Vivaldi Competition. She has benefitted from summer fellowships at the Spoleto Festival, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Colorado College Summer Music Festival, Round Top Festival Institute, Texas Music Festival, and Hidden Valley Festival of Winds.

Nina designs educational multimedia artworks with interactive music technology. Nina’s work in this discipline addresses issues of environmental justice by generating music from industrial and environmental data.
