Only 5% Remaining: Strength and Stay Campaign Nears Final Goal

Ensuring Music, Faith, & Leadership for Our Future

A heartfelt thank you to the nearly 100 alumni, parents, friends, and families who have committed three-year pledges or legacy (estate) gifts, bringing us to 95%, or $5.7 million of our $6 million dollar goal!

Support has included student scholarships, studio sponsorships, concert underwriters, endowments, partnerships, and much more. Please consider joining the nearly 100 donors, like Karl and Jill Maurer and Jane Wilke, who have committed to supporting LSM through the Strength & Stay Campaign.

Growing up, I (Karl) was fortunate to live in a community with two universities and a private Lutheran college that offered ample opportunities for music instruction and performances. However, not every student comes from a community with the same resources regarding music. LSM serves as a critical outlet to foster our next generation of musicians by giving them the opportunity to work with talented faculty inside a faith-inspired setting. Our support of LSM is a thank-you to the faculty and staff that I was blessed to encounter and to give students an opportunity to experience a very special environment in which to grow and nurture their faith— Soli deo Gloria.

-Karl (LSM 1985-1986) & Jill Maurer

Giving "on purpose, for purpose" is important to me. When I see how life-changing this experience is, I consider it a worthy purpose with lasting impact. I value vocation, and I pray that these gifted young people will be moved to use music to serve God and others, now and for years to come. I hope to inspire continued connections between those who attend and between these young people and God who has so richly gifted them with talent.

-Jane Wilke

Now is the time to invest in our shared future. With a combination of current and legacy (estate) gifts, the creation of endowments, a focus on alumni enthusiasm, and your enduring generosity, it is our goal to secure the future of LSM.

The Strength & Stay Campaign focuses on four priorities:

With the Strength & Stay Campaign comes the formation of the J.S. Bach Society. Much like Bach’s enduring influence over classical and sacred music and the Church, the J.S. Bach Society honors individuals who have committed to LSM’s long-term impact by including Lutheran Music Program in their will or estate plans. Thanks to these individuals for their dedication to the sustainability and influence of LSM on students, congregations, and our community. So far, over 30 people have committed to remembering LSM in their estate plans.
