Musical Theatre 2024
ELECTIVE OPTIONS
Two Musical Theatre elective options are offered for LSM 2024. All students interested in either elective (including returning students) are asked to submit a musical theatre video by June 1, 2024.
Musical Theatre
MT meets every-other day (during the Blue Elective track) to rehearse for a Half Session recital and the final Festival Week group performance.
Participation is open to both Half and Full Session students.
Participants have auditioned opportunities for solos.
Participants may receive, but are not guaranteed individual coaching within rehearsal time.
Capacity is unlimited. There’s room for everyone!
Music Video: Please share a one-minute cut from any musical theatre selection that demonstrates your dramatic and musical range. Live or recorded accompaniment is great, but not required.
Musical Theatre Intensive
MT Intensive meets daily (during both Green & Blue Elective tracks) to rehearse for performances, and learn about acting through song.
Participation is open only to Full Session students.
Participants have auditioned opportunities for solos.
Participants are guaranteed individual coaching in private sessions or master-class settings.
Capacity for MT Intensive is limited to a maximum of 18 participants. If interest exceeds capacity, individuals will be contacted about their placement prior to the start of LSM.
Music Video: Please share a full song of any musical theatre selection that demonstrates your dramatic and musical range. Optional to include a second contrasting selection, if desired. Live or recorded accompaniment is great, but not required.
MUSICAL THEATRE VIDEO SUBMISSION
Daniel Greco (Musical Theatre Director) and Alexis Cairy (Assistant Musical Theatre Director) wish to choose music that will be a unique fit for each performer, and music that will help challenge and best showcase the full ensemble. Choosing music in advance allows for class time to be maximized for rehearsal! To help them prepare, please submit a musical theatre video that demonstrates your dramatic and musical range. See differentiated instructions above for the main Musical Theatre class vs. the Intensive. Your submission may be used as a suggestion for numbers for the MT performance, or simply to inspire ideas for the directors. Videos are due by June 1, 2024.
