Gwen McQuaig currently teaches choir, piano, and music theory at Southeast Valley High School in Gowrie, Iowa. She graduated cum laude from Wartburg College in 2024 with degrees in religion and music education, and church music, in which she was named Outstanding Senior. Among many other activities while at Wartburg, Gwen studied organ with Dr. Karen Black, served as accompanist of the chapel choir, and president of The Wartburg Choir, the college’s flagship ensemble. She also regularly assisted with chapel services and composed many psalm refrains for festival worship services on campus. In the spring of 2024, Gwen served as a church music intern at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Des Moines, Iowa, under Dr. Michael Elsbernd. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and going for long walks.
