Ezechiel Daos
Associate Cantor, Organ
Associate Cantor Sponsored by Linda and Robert Kempke
2024 Chapel Choir Sponsored by William and Christa Even
Ezechiel Daos has served as Associate Cantor at Lutheran Summer Music since 2023. In addition to collaborating with the worship staff in planning numerous liturgies each summer, he serves as the Paul Bouman Chapel Choir Chair. Prior to this, Ezechiel served as a collegiate fellow for organ (’22) and voice (’21).
Ezechiel understands and embraces diverse communities of worship. He believes that seeking and living out a lively faith which is intentional, especially through music, is indispensable to a worship community.
As a multi-disciplined performer and pedagogue, he is interested in the intersection of faith and music. This is one of the reasons that Ezechiel has come to appreciate and live out the three pillars of LSM in his daily life: music, community, and faith. These three pillars are necessary for the individual and, therefore, for the community.
Currently a graduate student at the University of North Texas, he is finishing a master’s degree in organ performance, with a related field in harpsichord. He is studying organ with Dr. Jesse Eschbach and harpsichord/continuo with Dr. Brad Bennight. This past November, in collaboration with First Presbyterian Church–Denton and their GriefShare, Ezechiel gave the North Texas premiere of Eric Whitacre and Tony Silvestri's The Sacred Veil.
Ezechiel graduated in 2022 from Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri with bachelor's degrees in vocal performance and music education. Ezechiel studied voice with Dr. Susan Quigley–Duggan, piano with Dr. Melissa Simons, and organ with Jonie Loehnig. In his free time, he enjoys baking bread, jogging, and going to bookstores.
