Alexis Cairy is a Minneapolis based soprano. She is a private voice teacher, coach, performer, chorister, and soloist in the Twin Cities. In addition to teaching her private studio, she works with Northwestern University - St. Paul’s Academy of Music as a Faculty Voice Instructor, and Ensemble Music Academy in Rogers and Rochester Minnesota as a Voice and Piano instructor.

Ms. Cairy has performed with Minnesota Opera’s Project Opera’s Music of Mozart, additionally world premiering Memory Boy, an opera for young voices, as well as The Nightingale, Nightingale, and Minnesota Opera Mainstage in Dvorak’s Rusalka. She has performed with Eklund Opera in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin, Jake Heggie’s world premiere of It’s A Wonderful Life, Mrs. Johnson, Berlioz’s Beatrice et Benedict, Ursule, and Humperdink’s Hansel und Gretel, Mutter. Choral and solo work include; Beethoven and Britten’s War Requiem with Boulder Symphony, choral masterworks at Carnegie Hall, and Minnesota’s Schubert Club’s concert series presenting solo Mozart’s works. Competitive awards include grand winner in National Association of Teachers of Singing through a number of genres and years.

Ms. Cairy received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Colorado, Boulder under the tutelage of Dr. John Seesholtz, Head of Vocal Pedagogy. There Ms. Cairy performed and competed actively, placing in the finals of competitions and singing roles in operas, all while pursuing undergraduate and graduate courses in vocal pedagogy and speech and hearing sciences. Ms. Cairy’s passion is to inspire others how she was inspired. It is her mission that her students are nurtured in vocally healthy activities, while recognizing the need for personal and vocal autonomy in the private studio setting. Her teaching philosophy is to empower the singer with knowledge of vocal pedagogy, so the singer may make artistic, musical and healthy vocal choices that will aid them in their musical journey.
